Do Soy Candles Expire?

4-ounce bergamot soy candle in reclaimed glass by Johnston CandlesWhile soy candles are a wonderful addition to any space, they don’t retain fragrance or color very well after about a year. So do soy candles expire? Kind-of.

Do Soy Candles Expire?

You can still use your soy candles, even if they’re past their one-year birthdays. However, they may not be as enjoyable as they would have if you’d burned them right away.

They don’t handle direct sunlight or warm storage very well, either, so it’s best to store your soy candles in a cool, dark place when you’re not displaying or burning them.

Your soy candles will provide you with several hours of enjoyment. If you’re anything like us, you don’t have to worry about your soy candles expiring — you’ll light those beautiful things up as soon as you get them out of the box!
